Thank you to Aarav Agarkar, Kaedria Nye, and Alara Nye for your PTA Reflections entries! Their entries all went on to the Northshore PTSA Council level and Kaedria's entry will be moving on to the Washington State PTA level. Congratulations to them all!

Jane Schmidt is a Certified Parent Coach in private practice and the founder of Parent Coaching Northwest, LLC.  Having a growth mindset is believing that you are in control of your own ability, and you can learn and improve. In the classroom students are learning how to develop a growth mindset. Parents and caregivers can have a vital role in their development by supporting this same mindset at home. In this presentation parents will learn:
  • Understanding Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset
  • Us vs our kids and Growth Mindset
  • Easy tips for incorporating Growth Mindset in the home
BINGO Night

Doors open at 6:30, BINGO starts at 7:00

Free Admission (includes one Bingo card and raffle ticket per student.)

WE NEED YOUR PRIZE DONATIONS TO MAKE PTSA BINGO AND FAMILY NIGHT A SUCCESS! 
Please donate your NEW, gently USED, RE-GIFT items for prizes for kids of all ages. We will also be collecting donations for our RAFFLE BASKETS! All donations can be dropped off in the collection boxes in the students’ pods beginning January 3rd.

After School Activities

After-School STEM ACADEMY

Join the After-School STEM ACADEMY in this Hands-On Experience "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT"  that will guide students grades 4th -5th in exploring the fundamentals of electrical circuits.  By the end of this 6 session workshop students will create their own installation of the northern lights.  Classes will be held in the E-POD on Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 pm starting January 23rd-March 6th (No class on Feb 20th due to Mid-Winter break.
 

For enrollment contact the Host Teacher for this program  Leah Youngor Elenetza, or Xochitlor return this form to the office.  Due to limited availability of spots a lottery will be held on January 18th and your child's participation will be confirmed prior to class starting. 

This event is FREE of charge and a courtesy of the Washington Alliance for Better Schools, The Northshore School District and BOEING.    

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is an afterschool program like no other! Twice per week for 10 weeks, girls will have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity levels and learn important life skills. Trained and caring coaches lead 3 - 5 grade girls through interactive lessons and running activities. The season ends with a noncompetitive 5K event.
Registration Opens: January 4, 2019
Program Starts: March 4, 2019 
Practice Days & Times: M/Th 4:00-5:25 PM
Program Location: Woodmoor Elementary
Program Fee: Based on sliding scale, Scholarships are available and confidential.
