An apt way to start every new year, the month of January brings our focus to the abomination that is human trafficking. This gross injustice against human dignity takes its place as one of the largest criminal industries in the world, topped only by drug trafficking. Contrary to the common belief that the buying and selling of human beings is limited to third world nations, this crime touches every corner of society. All are susceptible to its reach.
Yes, there are slaves even in our city.
As our Garden Gate Ranch team looks forward into 2019, we long to see greater numbers educated, equipped, and set free. Our resolution this year is to press for more. More partners, more outreach, more opportunities for restored lives. We know that this fight cannot be won alone, and so we invite you to join in. Don't stand for solicited rape, forced labor, or any kind of slavery in your community. You CAN make a difference. “God started to speak to me about human trafficking, which I knew so little about. I heard women say, “No one is looking for me,” '“No one cares,” “They look right at me but don’t see me,” “They don’t think I’m worth fighting for,” “Will somebody come? Will someone help?” I felt their pain that day, and I felt God’s pain. At that moment, I knew these were the ones I was to help and that this was my mission field.”
