Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to all of you as 2019 begins. Many people make resolutions at this time of year centered around weight, eating and families. I would like to propose you a making a resolution to learn more about God. Perhaps through a Book Study, conversation with others about God, listening to a Podcast, reading an inspiring book or helping other people.

Take time to make resolutions and follow your heart.

In February 2019 the United Methodist Church will be holding a Special Session to have conversation and make decisions around the issues of human sexuality. In preparation for this Special Session you are invited to participate in the following informational event;

January 28th - 3:00pm - Penn Yan UMC

Grandma's Kitchen is our opportunity to feed hungry children at Penn Yan Academy. We serve a main food, fruit, vegetable and dessert. Our first opportunity is January 17th (note the date change). We will be serving sloppy joes, chips, apples, carrots and cookies.There will be information on the clipboards or see Babs (revbabs1@gmail.com)

Women's Book Study! Grab the book! Join us January 16, January 23 and January 30th from 6:00-7:00pm at church. Please read or skim chapters 1-4.

A Short Prayer for Healing for Friends

Lord, your Word speaks promises of healing and restoration and I thank you for the miracles you still perform today. Today I claim those promises over my friend. I believe in the healing power of faith and prayer and I ask you to begin your mighty work in the life of my friend. Please reach down and surround my friend with supernatural peace and strength and give her the faith to believe that all things are possible for you. Protect her/him from Satan's lies and discouragement and let her/him miraculous healing begin. Amen.
