Spring 2019 Newsletter

Spring has sprung at Camp Otterbein and summer camp is less than 60 days away! We want to let you know about everything going on over the next couple of months at camp.

Registration is open for Summer Camp 2019! We are getting ready for our best summer yet! New for summer 2019, a second week of Culinary Camp for older campers and a second week of Treehouse Paradise for younger campers.

The theme this summer is Relentless: God's love has no end. Each morning we will learn about God's relentless love, devotion, freedom, truth, and mission. In the evening we will will learn how we can pursue God in the same way.

Are you interested in joining our awesome summer staff at Camp Otterbein? Each year we hire a team of amazing christian role models to lead our campers through a week of fun, fellowship, and faith building. Working at camp is a fun and rewarding experience. Form new, lifelong friendships, enjoy the great outdoors, and make a difference in a child's life! We have just a couple positions left for summer 2019. Did God gift you with musical ability? We are looking for a worship leader to lead music at our morning and evening worship sessions. New this Month

We are hard at work remodeling the restrooms in Dogwood Lodge. The new restrooms will have an updated look and provide more privacy. Both restrooms will be finished before summer! Later this spring, the road from the parking lot to Maple Lodge will be paved along with improved drainage on all of our roads. We are working hard to provide you with an excellent camp and retreat facility!

Decked Out Campaign
Support Camp Otterbein as we "Deck Out" the front deck of Albright Lodge. The front deck is a vital place in our ministry. Every morning it is where our campers do their morning devotions and watch the sun rise. It is used as the central meeting place for everyone at camp. Many cabins use the front deck for their small group discussions each day. Virtually everyone who visits Camp Otterbein will spend time on the front deck. This campaign will help us purchase new furniture for the deck that everyone can enjoy. You can find out more and make a donation here.

Save the Date!

Mark your calendars for our first ever Father-Son retreat on September 20-22. We will go fishing, grill out, and watch the football game on the big screen. This event is open to fathers and sons of all ages as well as uncles, grandfathers, and close family friends.

Winter Camp is back this year on December 28-30. Get your mid-year fix of camp to tide you over till summer! Hang out with your old camp friends, drink hot chocolate, and slide down the hill in the snow (or mud).

We had a great time at the Culinary Retreat last weekend! We made some new friends, learned some new cooking skills, and ate a ton! The 2020 Culinary Retreat will be January 31- February 2 next year. This event is for adults and youth 16+ with a parent.
