Volunteer Highlights

Our volunteers helped us to prepare and send out invitations for our Shamrock Soiree on Saturday, March 16th.

We are still looking for volunteers to help out for the event. Anyone interested should contact Brittany Clayborne at (804)333-1099 or brittany.clayborne@havenshelter.org.
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the students at St. Margaret's volunteered at our Shoppe for Haven's Sake Thrift Store for the MLK Day of Service.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”
                                                                          -Martin Luther King, Jr.
We have an amazing team of volunteers at our Shoppe for Haven's Sake Thrift Store!

Scrap gold and silver were collected by Cathy White and the Shoppe's employees to sell to Ross's Rings & Things for cash.

The 3 months of collection totaled $751 in extra income for the Thrift Shop.

It is through the caring donations of the community and volunteers like Cathy that we are able to raise money to provide services to the individuals impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence.

Community in Action

The Haven hosted a training workshop for members of the community to facilitate DO YOU, a program for youth that builds resilience through creative expression. This program gives the youth in our community the chance to use their voice and stand up for issues they believe in. By hosting this training workshop, we hope to get this program implemented in more areas within the community.

Participants included students from Rappahannock High school, Community Services Board (CSB) staff members, the owner of  L.I.F.E. School of Arts, and other members of the community.

Upcoming Events

Join us for an evening of Gaelic revelry, full of Irish food and drinks, all in support of the work and mission of The Haven Shelter & Services on Saturday, March 16th from 6pm - 9pm at St. Margaret’s in Tappahannock.

In order to make the event a success, we could use volunteers like you to help. We have several committees that you could serve on. They include decorating, sponsorship, silent auction, and general help for the event. For more information on how you can help out with this event, please contact Brittany Clayborne at (804)333-1099 or brittany.clayborne@havenshelter.org.

If you would like to purchase tickets to attend or sponsor the event, visit
