Welcome to the first Signal Boost newsletter of 2019!
There’s no video this time, as the APS Office of Government Affairs transitions to a new host for the newsletter.
The big news for this newsletter: The APS Congressional Visits Day 2019 (CVD) takes place on January 31. That’s when more than 60 APS members and leaders will go to Capitol Hill and advocate for:
- supporting federally funded scientific research;
- requesting action on climate change;
- promoting legislation to address sexual harassment in the sciences;
- and making the F-1 visa “dual intent,” which would allow international students to simultaneously study and apply for citizenship in the United States.
Even if you're not attending CVD, you can still make your voice heard. Contact
