Good afternoon 8th grade families and 8th grade students,

Before sharing some information to support the CCHS transition, I want to share that the deadline to register for the Washington DC has been moved to February 1, next Friday. There are over 200 8th graders signed up! The goal every year is to have the entire 8th grade class part of the trip. Please let me know if the reason for not registering may be any hardships. Scholarship money is still available! To sign up, please follow this link. To lean more about scholarships, please email me!

Also, please stay close to the CMS 8th Grade Dates for Students and Families document. I will share a quick email pushing this back out to you all when there are additions or changes.

Finally,

Some notes supporting the CCHS transition:
  • All 8th grade students will learn about the CCHS course selection process next week at a 30 minute extended homeBASE.
  • All 8th grade parents will have an opportunity to learn about CCHS programming at the annual CCHS Curriculum Night on January  31, 2019 at 7pm in the high school auditorium. Families also have the opportunity to attend an Optional Science Curriculum presentation starting at 6:00 pm the same evening.
  • CCHS Course Selection Window OPENS for 8th Graders on February 12.

  • Additionally, and for your reference, CCHS has detailed curriculum maps available online. Below are links to individual course descriptions and unit pacing guides for various courses. I hope you find this information helpful and if you have specific questions about the curriculum, I encourage you to contact the respective CCHS Department Head listed.
