Future Nordic mobility explored in Brussels with success

Mobility systems play an important part in ensuring that our urban areas will be liveable smart, and sustainable, and we need to start thinking about how to develop them sooner rather than later.

Nordic Innovation and Finnish service design company Hellon are developing the Nordic Urban Mobility 2050 Futures Game. Through discussions and choices, the players create future mobility scenarios through discussions about plausible mobility modalities, impacts, and desirability – everything with people in the centre.

The game will be used as a conversation starter for municipalities, companies and citizens to help plan and prepare for future of mobility, and to encourage participants to create new Nordic project proposals that can be funded by Nordic Innovation.

Nordic smart cities collaborate to attract global investments

Several Nordic cities construct and use urban living labs to become smarter, more sustainable and more liveable. With funding from Nordic Innovation, the 14 Nordic cities in the Nordic Smart City Network have created the Nordic Urban Living Labs project to develop ‘best practices’ for living labs and urban development, and strengthen collaboration between Nordic cities. By promoting Nordic urban development solutions, they hope to attract global investments.
