WEBINAR WEDNESDAY

Celebrating Career and Technical Learning

Wednesday, February 13, 2019, 2 PM Eastern (1 PM Central)

February is career and technical education month.  In today’s knowledge and technology-based world, career and technical education (CTE) is experiencing a renaissance. CTE programs help young people develop skills for careers in agriculture, food and natural resources; STEM; information technology; advanced manufacturing; health science; hospitality and tourism. OST programs are getting involved in CTE starting in elementary school. This webinar will highlight what is happening in this change field and provide strategies you can implement right away in elementary, middle school or high school OST programs.

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR
Social-Emotional Learning in STEM

Social and Emotional Learning, or SEL, helps learners develop and apply skills to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions. These are just the skills that our students will need in their future, to find a fulfilling job, to get into college, to get along with others in their workplace, and to manage the challenges of life. So, what are some things we can do to prepare the young people in our programs for the future? This webinar will provide strategies to implement right away and ideas for building staff confidence and competence in SEL.
