Department of Health - CHSP Innovation Funding - Expression of Interest now open 

The department is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from organisations for proposals seeking to trial or use innovative approaches for the delivery of Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services. The EOI process will close 2pm (Canberra time) Friday, 1 February 2019.
The intended outcomes are to identify more effective, efficient and user-centric options for the provision of entry-level aged care services for senior Australians.
The department will shortlist the EOIs and invite those organisations considered suitable to apply for a Grant Opportunity.

The Artistic Spectrum Exhibition 

The Artistic Spectrum is an exhibition showcasing artistic talents of those on the Autism Spectrum. 

All artists residing on the NSW Mid-North Coast and who identify as being on the spectrum are invited to submit a piece of art for exhibition and join in the evening of acceptance, awareness and fun designed to showcase the skills and talents of the neuro-diverse population of our region.

Kempsey - SAFE Series Workshop

The NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian is proud to introduce Sam, Andy, Fiona and Eve. They’re the stars of the SAFE series, a set of four books containing protective behaviour messages aimed at children 2-6 years old.

This is an interactive workshop that will assist participants in developing skills in delivering a protective behaviours program.

The SAFE book Series is a free resource that will be made available only to organisations attending this workshop.

Wheelchair Tennis Tournament 

23 & 24  February 2019 | Grafton City Tennis Club, Grafton

Roll up, roll up for the 3rd annual Wheelchair Tennis Tournament being hosted by Grafton City Tennis Club on 23 and 24 February. With prize money on offer and a free BBQ lunch, previous years' tournaments have drawn players from as far as Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast.

Backtrack Boys - Fundraiser Screening 

A special community screening of Backtrack Boys is taking place at Sawtell Cinema. The film has scooped the Audience Awards for Best Documentary at the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra Film Festivals!

A group of troubled boys are on a perilous course toward jail until they meet up with a free-wheeling jackaroo, Bernie Shakeshaft, and hit the road with his legendary dog jumping team. This inspiring coming-of-age story follows the boys as they strive to turn their lives around - and the dogs that help tame their wild ways.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A Discussion with Bernie Shakeshaft.

Department of Health - CHSP home modifications growth funding announced

On 17 January 2019, the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP announced $15 million in funding for existing Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers delivering home modifications services.

CHSP providers delivering these services will be contacted directly in the coming weeks by their Funding Arrangement Managers to be offered funding to increase service delivery.

This funding will allow existing home modification providers to deliver changes to a client’s home to increase or maintain the person’s functional independence so that they can continue to live and move safely about the house.
