New Land
We are pleased to announce that on December 20, 2018, we closed on the purchase of the 29.19 acres that lie to the east of Range 1. This purchase will allow for a major expansion, but it will not happen overnight. Due to the cost, planning, and construction that will have to go into this new development, it will take a couple of years before any new range(s) will be ready for use. During this time, the property will be leased out to be farmed with the profits from the lease going towards funding the expansion.
Steel Targets
Steel targets have been placed at various distances on the ranges throughout the club for your use. Keep in mind that these are all AR500 and AR550 steel; rifle caliber cartridges can severely damage these targets at less than 100 yards. Targets placed at less than 100 yards are for handguns, shotguns, and muzzleloaders only.
Guest Policy
A change to the guest policy has been made that will become effective April 1, 2019. Due to guest privileges being abuse, guests are NO longer allowed; range access will be limited to those on a current and paid membership (your membership includes you, your spouse, and your children under 21). For those who are interested in touring the range, open houses will be held on the first weekend of both June and October. If you know someone who is interested in joining and does not want to wait until the open house, tours can possibly be arranged by contacting us at mgca_il@yahoo.com
New Legislation
Lastly, due to President Trump signing a law banning bump stocks, beginning March 26, 2019, we will no longer allow the use of bump stocks at our facility. Regardless of personal opinions on the law, the range MUST be compliant with the law.

3 CLUB DIRECTORS TO BE ELECTED IN MAY
There will be 3 open seats on the club's Board of Directors with elections taking place during the May Membership Meeting. Any member in good standing may run for one of the 3 open seats. To do that you must send your bio by email to mgca_il@yahoo.com or mail it in to Box 9251, Peoria IL 61612-9251. Bios must arrive no later than March 15. 2019. Please include the following info:

- Your name
- How long you've been a club member, and
- A brief statement about who you are and what you want club members to know about you.
Ballots will be mailed to each club member and must be either hand-carried to the May membership meeting, or mailed-in to the post office box that will be printed on the ballot itself. Only original ballots will be accepted. No votes will be accepted via email.

The new year is off to a great start. We have 865 members of which 93 are first time members at this time.
Change in Dues & Application Forms:
- All members, renewing and new, now pay the same dues amount of $100.00.
- Submit a completed current application and a copy of your valid FOID or CCL card with your payment, we do not accept any of the old applications or renewal notices.
- All checks need to be made out to either Midwest Gun Collectors Association or MGCA.
- Mail to MGCA Membership Director, P.O. Box 9251, Peoria, Illinois 61612-9521.

Open House in June & October
Effective April 1, 2019 we will no longer allow members to bring in guests. We will, however, be hosting Range Open Houses the first weekends of both June and October which will also serve as opportunities to sign up new members. I will be there and hope to see you there, too..
