Welcome to 2019.
Let me be one of the last (for 2019, at least) to wish you a Happy New Year. I hope your year is off to as good a start as ours is at Utah Beer News.
The year ahead will be hard-pressed to match what turned out to be a remarkable 2018 in Utah beer.
But with several new breweries eyeing 2019 openings, and with existing establishments gaining stronger footholds and followings — and continuing to brew great beer — I'm confident Utah craft beer drinkers will be well served over the next 11+ months.

In This Issue...
- Sharing thoughts from brewers and breweries affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
- Writing about a program — Pints for Purpose — in which local breweries open their doors to non-profits to help raise funds and awareness.
- Stepping inside Salt Flats Brewing, which underwent a recent rebrand and is setting its sights on becoming a regional brewery.
- Compiling news and notes from the beer world that caught my eye in the last month or so.
- And more!
As we embark on another year, Utah Beer News will continue to bring you stories of brewers, breweries, and everyday imbibers who contribute to the Utah craft beer community.
If this is your first time receiving our monthly dispatch, welcome! If you're a longtime subscriber, thank you for sticking with us. As always, feel free to drop a line to let me know what you think.
Here's to 2019 and a year of drinking good beer!
Cheers,
Tim
