Utah Beer News | January 2019

Welcome to 2019.

Let me be one of the last (for 2019, at least) to wish you a Happy New Year. I hope your year is off to as good a start as ours is at Utah Beer News.

The year ahead will be hard-pressed to match what turned out to be a remarkable 2018 in Utah beer.

But with several new breweries eyeing 2019 openings, and with existing establishments gaining stronger footholds and followings — and continuing to brew great beer — I'm confident Utah craft beer drinkers will be well served over the next 11+ months.

Read on to learn how you can win a prize pack by helping to shape future Utah Beer News coverage (or simply click here if you like living dangerously).

In This Issue...

  • Sharing thoughts from brewers and breweries affected by the ongoing government shutdown.
  • Writing about a program — Pints for Purpose — in which local breweries open their doors to non-profits to help raise funds and awareness.
  • Stepping inside Salt Flats Brewing, which underwent a recent rebrand and is setting its sights on becoming a regional brewery.
  • Compiling news and notes from the beer world that caught my eye in the last month or so.
  • And more!

As we embark on another year, Utah Beer News will continue to bring you stories of brewers, breweries, and everyday imbibers who contribute to the Utah craft beer community.

If this is your first time receiving our monthly dispatch, welcome! If you're a longtime subscriber, thank you for sticking with us. As always, feel free to drop a line to let me know what you think.

Here's to 2019 and a year of drinking good beer!

Cheers,
Tim

Salt Flats Brewing: Putting its Foot on the Gas

Salt Flats Brewing
Salt Flats Brewing got its start — as RPM Brewery — in the corner of a Draper, Utah, restaurant. Since then, Salt Flats has undergone a significant rebrand, it's hired a head brewer with a wealth of industry experience, and has set its sights on becoming a regional brewery.

BONUS:  Listen to our full interview with members of the Salt Flats crew as part of the Utah Beer News Podcast. Listen to them talk about the market they're trying to serve, get a firsthand glimpse inside the unique taproom, and hear their thoughts on the Utah craft beer scene.

Your Chance to Win!

Please Take Our Four-Minute Survey

We want to make Utah Beer News a must-read. To do that, we need to know what matters most to you.

Please take a four-minute survey to share your thoughts on what's important to you as a beer drinker in the Beehive State.

To thank you for your time... We'll randomly select two (2) names from successfully completed surveys submitted on or before Jan. 31, 2019 to win a Utah Beer News Prize Pack.

We're not sure just yet what the prize packs will include (brewery swag, gift card, beer book, etc.), but they'll each be valued at around $50 (unfortunately, they won't include any actual beer).

You can submit the survey anonymously, but please include your email address if you'd like to be eligible to win a prize pack.

Thank you and good luck!
