Our Auction Gravy Train
Needs YOU

We are looking for 5-7 FAMILIES to cook and deliver a meal to our lucky winners from the GRAVY TRAIN at the upcoming Spring Auction. If you love to cook and want to support Lakeshore, please join us! This item raises much needed funds for our PTA and the enrichment programs like Motor, Gardening, and Art.

Volunteers will make a meal for a Family of 4 (that includes entrée, side, dessert, and beverage) and deliver between March and August 2019 in SF only. Please contact Dara Dubosky if interested or have questions.
What Should the PTA Do With the Extra $$$$?
Our second Annual Giving Campaign was a success! If we stay on track with the rest of our fundraisers this year, we will end the year with a budget surplus. To be prepared, we are asking for your opinion now on how to spend the possible surplus. Please share your opinion in this survey. Paper copies that include Chinese translations from SFUSD are delayed but will be distributed to students as soon we receive them.
Lakeshore Family in Need of Your Assistance

A student and family in our community had all of their possessions destroyed in a house fire. Fortunately, everyone was ok and they were able to secure another residence. If you would like to donate gift cards or other items to help this family, please bring it to Ms. Sadja sadjas@sfusd.edu, Ms. Classy martinc@sfusd.edu, or Ms. Nicole ambrosion@sfusd.edu and they will pass it on to the family.
Seeking: PTA Nominating Committee Members
Lakeshore PTA is currently seeking PTA members who are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee. Members of the Nominating Committee are responsible for seeking eligible nominees for the elected leadership positions of our PTA in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

Elections for the Nominating Committee will occur at our next PTA meeting on Feb. 21. This committee will be composed of 5 members and 1 alternate. For more information, please contact Lakeshore PTA Parliamentarian, Will Gow.
Seeking: New PPP Editor for 2019-20 School Year
We are now in search of new Paw Print Press Editor(s) for the 2019-20 school year. Are you a content writer/editor? Good organizational skills? Familiar with Google Docs? Have experience with MailChimp and/or web-HTML knowledge?

If you have one or more of the skills listed above, please consider taking over the PPP Editor position for the next school year. This position can be filled by one person or a small team.

Without a PPP editor, there will be no weekly newsletter containing announcements of events, introductions of new staff, public recognition of volunteer efforts, reminders of community meetings, updates on vital fundraisers to provide our signature enrichment programs, and more—the stuff that makes our community a community!

Please consider taking on this important Lakeshore Communications role! For more information, please email newsletter@lakeshoreelementary.org.
Kung Hei Fat Choy!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Next Tuesday, February 5th, is the Lunar New Year and we welcome the Year of the Pig! Pig is the twelfth zodiac animal. According to a myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. Pig was late because he overslept so he was the last zodiac animal.

Volunteer Signups for Leopard Store Shopkeepers (K-2)
Happy New Year, families! Many thanks to the volunteers who have supported the Leopard Store! As some of you may know, the store started last year under the leadership of Mr. Caenepeel, who has since left Lakeshore. True to the Lakeshore spirit, many enthusiastic parents and caregivers have stepped up to keep the store going for Grades K-2 (Grades 3-5 teachers run the store themselves).

The students are thrilled, and teachers genuinely appreciate the support! We encourage YOU to be a part of the positivity in the New Year! Signups are now open for January Leopard Store Shopkeepers "shifts" for K-2 and February for grades 1-2. Time commitment varies by grade from 30-60 mins.

You can sign up here:
Kindergarten: Sign up here
1st Grade: Sign up here
2nd Grade: Sign up here

As Store Shopkeeper you will support PBIS at Lakeshore and share in the good feeling generated by students who are proud of their positive choices. Thank you for helping out!
Leopard Bucks and the Leopard Bucks Store are key to our PBIS program. Leopard Bucks are awarded to students when they make choices that uphold Lakeshore's core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. A visit to the "store" is an exciting opportunity for students to exchange their hard-earned Leopard bucks for a tangible token of their positive choices.
Want to include something in the next edition? Please complete the PPP Submission Form here bit.ly/pppsubmit no later than Friday at noon with final content. Thank you!
