Principles of Fundraising

Thank you to all the leaders who attended our kick-off events over the last few weeks. We hope you enjoyed the meal, time with friends, and the opportunity to learn more about the Called to Renew campaign.

The Campaign Office is excited to work with you and celebrate your success. Please reach out to your campaign directors with any questions or comments. We are confident if you follow the plan created for your parish, you will be successful in building community and raising money to complete much-needed or anticipated parish projects!

Check out the principles of fundraising below:

Prayer - With God's help, anything is possible!

Personal Visits - We hope to meet with as many families as possible through an individual, in-person meeting. Communicating in this way allows volunteers to thoroughly and passionately convey the Case for Support. It creates a conversation where questions can be asked and answered. And it creates a sense of importance to a family's decision. Volunteers from the Pilot Wave shared that these visits were also a great opportunity to meet new people, or reconnect with friends from the parish!

Proportionate Gift Requests - We have all been blessed differently, both spiritually and financially. Requests made during the campaign will be based on equal sacrifice and not equal amounts.

Pledged Commitments - By extending the life of a gift to the Called to Renew campaign, we provide donors the opportunity to make more sacrificial commitments than what may be possible through a one-time donation. All donors will be encouraged to make pledges over a five year period -- but can fulfill these commitments in a variety of ways (cash, check, credit, stock, etc.) as well as different frequencies (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually).

Phase-by-phase Approach - In order to provide every family in your parish with the opportunity to make a decision about supporting Called to Renew, we will gradually invite the participation of families. First, we will start with a "quiet phase" that builds momentum in monies raised and the number of advocates in the parish. We will then host receptions, send mailings, have pulpit announcements, and weekly bulletin inserts. Finally, the Campaign will conclude with two consecutive weekends of in-pew appeals. Your Campaign Director will help implement this plan in your parishes.

More than 50 volunteers from St. Mary in Palmdale attend the Kick-Off on January 22!

Fr. Vaughn Winters chartered a bus so that parishioners could attend the dinner presentation, located more than 70 miles away from the Kick-Off venue. With more than 50 families in attendance, we are looking forward to hearing about Fr. Vaughn's personal visits!

St. Thomas More in Alhambra receives its first three gifts!

Congratulations to Fr. Thai Le and the team at St. Thomas More on a great start to the Called to Renew effort. In its first week of the Campaign, the parish received three gifts totaling $24,000.

Thank you to Father John Schiavone for his early dedication to the parish Campaign at St. Maria Goretti in Long Beach. We look forward to celebrating new gifts in the coming weeks!
