 Hello 916 Career and Tech Family!
Happy 2019 families! I cannot believe we are about to start our final semester of the school year! It is amazing to see how far our 800 students have come this year already earning hundreds of industry certifications, college credits and grown greatly in their passion and professionalism for future career success.
Please take a moment to read below for news and important registration season information. We need your help as we are already looking forward to fall 2019 and getting more of the Right Students in the Right Programs for the Right Reasons.

Help Others Gain a Competitive Advantage!
It's not too late to spread the word about how the 916 Career & Tech programs help ignite student's passion for living-wage, high-demand careers. It's registration season at your student's school and districts have until Feb. 22 to enroll to get priority for our programs.
As you know, the high school experience is no longer the one-size-fits-all model of years gone by. 916 Career and Tech serves 14 districts and more than 20 secondary sites. With such an extensive reach, it can be a challenge when it comes to ensuring that our home high school students, parents, counselors and other staff are aware of our amazing programming. YOU are a major asset and ambassador of our success. Please take a moment to reach out to your student's school and the other parents and students in your communities to ensure they know about the valuable opportunities and experiences students have at 916 Career and Tech.
Is your student a current high school junior? Make sure they know about the next level of opportunity for them to add to their resume more of a COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE for their future. Some of our programs are available for two years of curriculum, and others have a complementary program (like Law Enforcement to EMT). We also have other opportunities for students to participate in individualized experiences such as our Mentor Connection and Youth Apprenticeship/Work Based Learning program. Parent Portal is the tool to use to track your student progress. This is particularly important if your student is eligible for college credit. If you signed up for Parent Portal, you will receive your activation code within the next week. If you did not receive it by Sept. 26, please contact portalhelp@916schools.org.

Did you know?
- Students have access to more than 20 programs at the 916 Career & Technical Center because they are residents in one of the 14 school districts who are members of the Northeast Metro Intermediate School District 916.
- The 916 Career & Technical Center is located at Century College, we are a separate school with our own phone number, website, and main office.
- This year we serve approximately 875 students.
- Over 2750 college credits were earned by our students in the 2016-17 school year.
