Fiesta de San Sebastián
Hi, <<First Name>>,
This Sunday, January 20, is the Fiesta de San Sebastián in Ajijic, a small celebration for the patron saint of one of Ajijic's five neighborhoods. A procession starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends with an all-night party with music and a fireworks "torito." Get more info about the day's events at The Lakeside Guide.

Procession-goers enter the church on the plaza while balancing bowls of food on their heads as was customary in times past for keeping the hands free to carry other things.

The masked sayacas, a unique town tradition, appear during the procession for Saint Sebastian.

Halfway through the procession, everyone arrives at the church in the Ajijic plaza. The image of Saint Sebastian is brought inside and Aztec dancers dance outside with a banda for about 15 minutes.
