What 2019 will bring at DE-CIX: New locations, more sites, new security features, and a revamped portal

DE-CIX opens new Internet Exchanges in Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai
DE-CIX will expand its business activities India and open new Internet Exchanges in Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai in the first quarter of 2019. DE-CIX Interwire Internet Services Private Limited now owns a nationwide license for India. Read more.
DE-CIX New York reaches milestone of 200 connected networks
DE-CIX has exceeded the key milestone of 200 unique networks peering at DE-CIX New York. The exchange now takes the number one position as the largest carrier and data center-neutral Internet Exchange in New York. Almost fifty percent of the networks are exclusively available via DE-CIX in New York. Read more.
New all-time traffic peak at DE-CIX Madrid: 200+G
On 8 January, DE-CIX Madrid reached a new all-time peak of more than 200G! A big eyeball network went live, and almost instantly peering traffic rose to more than 200G. This was followed by several peaks, the latest from 27 January of more than 230G. This was a great start into the year. DE-CIX Madrid traffic statistics
Renumbering in New York completed successfully
Between 28 and 30 January, the change from the old /24 network to the new /22 network at DE-CIX New York took place. All services with old IPv4 addresses including the old IPv4 route servers have been moved to the new address space. Read more.

Handball World Cup creates new traffic record at DE-CIX Hamburg
During the finals of the Handball World Cup last weekend, DE-CIX Hamburg reached a new traffic record with a peak of 57+ G on Saturday night. Traffic peaks were also seen on Sunday during the game for the bronze medal, where Germany lost to France, and during the finals when Denmark claimed the world cup title by defeating Norway.
