Parent Ed Opportunity: Social and emotional skills at our January General meeting, THIS THURSDAY

Our first PTSA meeting of 2019 will be this Thursday, January 17th, at 7p.m. In addition to PTSA business, we will be hosting speakers to talk about social and emotional skills.

Studies show the impact that social and emotional skills have on academics. Children who have these skills, from taking turns and listening to the speaker to more advanced skills like managing internal thoughts and emotions, are more amenable to learning. Social and emotional skills training is important for every child. It boosts academics and predicts later educational and professional success.

Join Laura Schneider, LMHC, and Leslie Fields, LMHC, from Casey’s Clubhouse, Inc. to learn a little more about how you can encourage and enhance these skills in your child.

Conference week is coming up! Let's take care of our hard-working teachers.

RHE conference week is coming! On January 29th, 30th, and February 1st our students get out of school early but our teachers work long hours; they come in early for student conferences and many end up staying late.

It is a PTSA tradition to provide hearty snacks for our teachers on those days. As always, we rely on parent volunteers to pull this off. Helping out is easy: sign up for a specific item here, then bring your contribution to school on the day you've chosen. Thank you in advance for pitching in!

Natural Leaders Cultural Game Night is Thursday, January 24th, and it's FREE!

Our amazing Natural Leaders parent group is hosting its first-annual cultural game night on Thursday, January 24th, from 5:40-7:15 p.m.

Natural Leaders is a parent engagement program sponsored by the Washington Alliance for Better Schools. Join our Natural Leaders for an evening of fun cultural games for your entire family. Upon arrival, receive a passport to stamp as you "travel" the world playing local games and sampling traditional candies from around the world. (Be sure to eat dinner first.)

You'll also have a chance to win a raffle basket full of cultural games!

Questions? Contact the school office or reach out to Paulette Evans.

Photographers needed! Help make our yearbook great.

Don't worry, you don't need to be a pro. We just need a few parents to help out by snapping photos at our events and sending them to our yearbook staff. Attending anyway? Then this could not be easier. Just sign up here and send your photos along when you are done.
