How the County Budget Works for You

The 2019 county budget of $404.3 million -- adopted unanimously last month by the Board of County Commissioners -- is an annual spending plan that reflects the County's Align Arapahoe goals of Service First, Quality of Life and Fiscal Responsibility.

The 2019 budget includes 46 new employees, the majority of which will be in the Sheriff's Office to increase patrol officers and staff at the regional crime lab, 911 dispatch and detention facility. The budget also sets aside $12.9 million for Capital Improvements such as infrastructure, facility, technology and public safety needs. Approximately $800,000 is allocated for the District Attorney's Office and Tri-County Health Department, which are services shared with neighboring counties.
