Positive Discipline in the Classroom

Building Resiliency 1: Strategies to Engage Youth Exposed to Trauma
How do you become a buffering adult to conteract the effects of toxic stress in your community? In the first of our Building Resiliency Series, learn what trauma and insecure attachment do to growing brains and how to use strengths-based plans to foster learning for youth exposed to trauma.

Building Resiliency 2: Firmness Tools
In the second of our Building Resiliency Series, learn more of the brain science behind trauma- informed practices, as well as tools for setting clear and respectful limits while maintaining connections with youth.
This is a great class for anyone who has taken Building Resiliency 1 or joined us for a screening of the "Resilience" movie.

Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way
A step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially based parenting groups using the Positive Discipline and Adlerian philosophy. Build community and become a parent leader for your community.
This workshop consists of a 2-hour evening parenting workshop and 2 full days of class. (The 2-hour evening parenting workshop portion of the class only is open to the public and offered by Sound Discipline at no cost to the host school's community.)
March 14 Thursday 7:00-9:00 pm, White Center Heights Elementary School.
March 15 & 16, Friday & Saturday 9:00 am-5:00 pm, KCHA Joe Thomas Community Room, Seattle.

Parenting with Positive Discipline


Parents are often challenged by whining, arguments over chores, sibling fights, bedtime problems, clashes over homework and screen time, and other issues. We provide skills and tools to get to the core of conflict and bring more peace and joy to your home.
Parenting with Positive Discipline. 6-week course.
January 17 - February 28 (skip Feb 21), Thursdays. 6:30-9:00pm. Greenwood Senior Center, Seattle.

Interested in bringing a Parenting class to your school or community? We offer two options and we are currently scheduling parenting programs for 2019:
1) Our 2-hour Parenting with Courage & Connection workshop, an introduction to Parenting with Positive Discipline. 
2) The 6-week Parenting with Positive Discipline series provides parents with tools and skills to strike an important balance between being kind and firm in a fun, relaxing and supportive atmosphere.
