Winter is Bright - - like the Future!

While winter is a quieter time on Blue Mountain Lake, there is still plenty to do as The Hedges looks forward to next season. Among the tasks is hiring employees so we're fully staffed for May-October. Not to worry – Pat, Jamie, Sue, Mary Ann, and many other familiar faces will be here to welcome you. In addition, we are currently conducting a search for an Assistant General Manager to begin learning the full operations of The Hedges, a Sous Chef to help run the kitchen, and new additions to the Hospitality Staff to work in the Benton Dining Room and in housekeeping. Terrific staff members have come to The Hedges through personal connections and word of mouth over the years. If you know possible candidates, please refer them to the job postings on our web site:

During the Benton era, The Hedges was revitalized as a premiere Adirondack resort. Pat's intent was that it would transcend time, much like the Adirondack Park, as a place open to and enjoyed by past, present and future generations of guests. There is no more fitting room to dedicate to someone who personifies hearth and home, warmth and welcome, comfort and conviviality.
The Hedges received a 2018 AARCH (Adirondack Architectural Heritage) Preservation Award recognizing it's a wonderfully intact and faithfully preserved historic resort complex. Pat Benton and her family dedicated years of time and energy and accomplished substantial restoration work and structural stabilization. The Hedges's unique details were also noted—the antiques,  interior finishes and treatments, and preserved sense-of-place. The Hedges has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2009.
Share Your Photos Please!

Campers can look forward to several new offerings in the Crow's Nest gift shop including items by regional artists. One of the new ideas needs your participation. A photo calendar is being published for 2020. Please submit high quality digital images by Feb. 28 to photos@thehedges.com so it can be sold starting in May.

You are encouraged to send images to this email address at any other time of the year, too, since guests often capture the best views such as this September 2018 sunset. Photographs are also helpful for The Hedges's marketing activities and for social media.  Thank you!
Your Input is Valued!

The Hedges appreciates feedback from guests. Jamie crafted a beautiful wooden Suggestion Box for the Dining Room last season, but you can send an email to   thehedgesonbml@gmail.com
