The information provided by you is collected purely for the purposes of informing you of news about activities in the Upper Calder Valley as you have requested. We need to collect this information in order to email you the monthly newsletter. Completion of this form/sharing your information with us constitutes explicit consent from you for us to mail you for this purpose.
 
You may withdraw this consent at any time by writing to Jae Campbell, Neighbourhood Office, Hebden Bridge Town Hall, St. George’s Street, Hebden Bridge, HX7 7BY. In addition, you have the right to see what information is held about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information removed from our system unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it, and the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law.

Your name and contact details are recorded electronically on our system to maintain up to date records. This information will be kept for a maximum of three years or until such time as the data is reviewed by us or removed at your request.

Why we collect and hold this information
Your personal information is collected for the purpose of including you on our monthly newsletter about activities in the Upper Calder Valley as you have requested. We use this information to send out news and updates via Mailchimp, and by email.
 
Sharing your personal information                                       
Our newsletter service provider is Mailchimp who provide email marketing and automation software as a service. Mailchimp process your personal information as a processor on behalf of Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council. Mailchimp may transfer and store your personal information securely outside the European Union. Where that is the case it will be subject to equivalent legal protection through the use of Model Contract Clauses and the Mailchimp’s membership of the Privacy Shield Scheme.

Your rights
  • You have the right to ask for copies of what information is held about you.
  • You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate.
  • You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your information.
  • You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. How long we will keep your information
Your information will be retained for 3 years, and for as long as you continue to consent to receive our newsletter. We will contact you periodically to ask if you wish to continue receiving the newsletter and to verify your consent for us to retain your personal information for this purpose. If you unsubscribe, withdraw or do not verify your consent or request your information to be removed, your data will be deleted. Mailchimp will only retain your information for as long as you use the service.
 
How to complain
You have the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law. The Council’s Data Protection Officer is Tracie Robinson and can be contacted at information_management@calderdale.gov.uk
 
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office at www.ICO.org.uk
