UI Iowa earns STARS Silver Rating

The UI Office of Sustainability and Environment is pleased to announce that the University of Iowa has received a STARS Silver rating in recognition for achievement in sustainability from the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). 

The STARS Report was used to measure how the entire UI campus is performing in regards to the three spheres of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social. You can read the contents of the UI STARS report here.

Power Down Over Break

Join us for the Environment & Sustainability Career Forum
On Thursday March 28th, The Pomerantz Center and partners will be hosting the first ever Environment & Sustainability Career Forum. Join us in the IMU Second Floor Ballroom at  5 PM to meet with alumnus and local professionals working in a variety of sustainability focused positions. Meet with professionals working in local foods, GIS, consulting, and even more.

USDN Equity Diversity Inclusion (EDI) Fellowship Program: 
Apply to work with local governments, including the City of Iowa City, on a 12 week project this summer. Fellows will assist city staff in working on sustainability and equity focused projects within their respective communities.

Challenge Plastic:  
Write a proposal to receive funding to implement innovative plastic reduction strategies in the areas of new materials and green chemistry, waste reduction and recycling, and innovative product delivery systems.

NASA DEVELOP Program: 
The DEVELOP Program accepts applications for 10 week sessions in Fall, Spring and Summer. Students and recent graduates can work on real GIS case studies across the US.
