Free Webinar: NECA's NFPA 70E Resources

Join NECA on Wednesday, January 23 at 2pm EST for a live webinar presentation featuring NFPA 70E Significant Changes and the various resources available for you and your company from NECA. 

NECA has developed many resources available for NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. From guides and PowerPoints to mobile apps, NECA has developed a library for the electrical industry to use to understand and implement the standards that have been developed with worker safety in mind. The NECA Guides are available in print or digital downloads for member’s use. Each guide has a corresponding PPT for use by the company in training employees. Not only does NECA develop this material but NECA Safety and NECA Education partner to deliver specific NFPA 70E training classes at local NECA chapters and contractors with instructors that are part of the standards development process for NFPA 70E.

Welcome 2019 NECA Codes & Standards Committee

NECA is pleased to announce that eight new members are joining NECA Codes and Standards Committee in 2019. Plus, NECA’s largest committee has, for the first time, appointed two women to the committee adding valuable new perspectives with the addition of Haley Masbruch and Mashell Carissimi.

The Codes and Standards Committee is involved in development, administration, and enforcement of installation codes, safety standards, product standards and other related industry regulations. Find out more »

NECA Publishes Two New Standard Revisions

 

 NECA/NEMA 605-2018, Recommended Practice for Installing Underground Nonmetallic Utility Duct.

This document covers recommendations for the selection, handling and installation of underground single bore rigid nonmetallic conduit (RNC) or raceway for power, lighting, signaling, and communications applications. For the purpose of this guideline, Rigid nonmetallic conduit (RNC) or raceway refers for HDPE, PE, PVC, or RTRC conduit and duct. Corrugated coiled utility duct is not covered in this guideline; details on storage, handling, and installation are covered in NEMA TCB-3.

NECA/NACMA 120-2018, Standard for Installing Armored Cable (TYPE AC) and Metal-Clad (MC) Cable

TThis standard covers the identification, selection and installation of Type AC and Type MC cables, which are used for electrical wiring for residential, commercial and industrial occupancies. It also includes information on fittings and other accessories necessary for a quality installation of these cable systems.
