PORTLAND FINE PRINT FAIR
January 25-27

The Crow's Shadow booth at the 2018 fair
FIRST LOOK AT EXCITING NEW PRINTS!

Crow's Shadow is back in Portland for the 2019 Portland Fine Print Fair (PFPF). Our booth will be highlighting our most recent publications, including works from Marwin Begaye, Avantika Bawa, Ka'ila Farrell-Smith, and a first look at Vanessa Renwick's upcoming release! The studio has quietly been cooking up a special print project with James Lavadour which we will be previewing at the fair, along with showing off his beautiful oil-paint monotype which we are currently raffling as a fundraiser for Crow's Shadow (more on that below). We will also have newly refreshed print racks with a wide range of artworks from previous Artists-in-Residence.

The PFPF is hosted by the Portland Art Museum in the Mark Building. While you are there, remember to check out Avantika Bawa's exhibition in the museum's APEX gallery before it closes on February 10. We hope to see you there!

MONOPRINT SERIES ONLINE

During Ka'ila Farrell-Smith's artist residency she created a monoprint series entitled G' EE' LA (Earth, Land, & Creation in Klamath). These monoprints have several unique layers and two repeated lithograph elements (the figure and the bright pink petroglyph design across the top half of the prints). There are 20 prints in the series, each one different, with Ka'ila's painterly mark-making and a range of colors and patterns shifting through each image.

"This image is for my ancestors and for those who have walked over to other worlds. It references ancient (7,000 cal BP) carvings called the Long Lake Carved Abstract rock art panel located in Southern Oregon."   - Ka'ila Farrell-Smith
