New from OHRC

5-Year Needs Assessment Resources

Center for Oral Health Systems Integration and Improvement (COHSII) consortium partners, the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD) and OHRC, have produced the following resources intended to help state oral health program staff become involved in the Title V Maternal and Child Health needs assessment process and ultimately the development of the state action plan.
Resources produced by OHRC may be viewed, printed, and copied. (Adapting or reproducing OHRC-produced materials requires permission.) For printing and copying, we have formatted publications to more efficiently use paper and toner or ink. Find our popular trifold brochures in an alternate 8 1/2" x 11" format. Our recent fact sheet with information for dentists about opioids is now only 4 pages, reformatted from 6, to use less paper. Contact us if you have ideas on how we can make our resources useful to you.

Topic Focus

Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Resources
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Office of Women's Health (OWH) is focusing on violence prevention as a priority area. OWH leads the 2017-2020 HRSA Strategy to Address Intimate Partner Violence, which outlines the actions that 14 HRSA bureaus and offices will take to address IPV, both individually and collaboratively, as well as in partnership with federal agencies and grantees. The strategy is a new framework for the agency to address this social determinant of health and advance HRSA’s overall mission to improve health and achieve health equity through access to quality services, a skilled workforce, and innovative programs. HRSA's chief dental officer will work with OWH to identify intersections to better address IPV through HRSA’s current oral health portfolio in alignment with the strategic framework, and will work with HRSA’s oral health workgroup to facilitate outreach to key oral health stakeholders and partners who have interest in education and training on screening for IPV and family violence during oral health care visits.

The HRSA strategy is cataloged in the OHRC library. Other resources include
