Social Media Seminar Honed Students Professional Skills
SPR Group students Tierra and Joel  presented a workshop called "The Gift and the Curse" at the 2nd annual Social Media Seminar, Oct. 6. They received rave reviews from students, parents and fellow event coordinators at the event hosted by Prince George's County Council Member Todd M. Turner, 4th District, (led by Tomeka Bumbrey, chief of staff; and Evelyn Archie, community outreach coordinator). Held in the Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing, the event attracted middle and high school students, and their parents; it provided a variety of workshops for each age group to inform them about the benefits and dangers of social media. Mathis and Peebles were among seasoned professionals who presented (Kristian Owens, social worker; and Jade Mathis, Prince George's County States Attorney).

SPR Group Arwa assisted Joel and Tierra with their presentation, and the event coordinators and planning partners in the planning, promoting, and setup of the event. Honored guest speakers included Dr. Aminta Breaux, president of Bowie State University; and Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.
