Honoring the Life of Martin Luther King Jr on Monday, January 21 - NO SCHOOL
School Calendar: A technical glitch has been fixed and the google calendar is now working on our website.
Chapel
This week we continued our focus on European Missions! Hillary Cummings, Aunt to Grace Downs in 3rd grade, chatted with us from her home in Sicily. She shared how sad it is to see the beautiful cathedrals in Europe completely empty. In fact, she said that most of the cathedrals are now used as museums. She asked us to pray for more missionaries to Europe, for the small number of Christians there to share the gospel, and for the people of Europe to respond to the gospel of Hope. Her blog is:

Safety in the Schoolhouse
We had an afternoon Shelter In Place drill this week when students were with other teachers for enrichment classes. The schoolhouse was completely secure within 30 seconds. We are ever prayerful that we do not have to secure our building/students for real threats, but we aim to be prepared in season and out.
Conferences
Remember that we have a Noon Dismissal on Thursday, January 24th to facilitate Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like to sit down and conference!
Re-Enrollment Meetings
We are having our re-enrollment meetings with Mrs. See the last week of January. Mrs. See wants to connect with each family about their plans for next year. All current PHCS families need to sign up for a 15-20 minute time slot to discuss plans for next year.

2019. Sebastopol Community Church. More details to come!
Pancake Donations
Now that we have March 30th on our calendars for the Annual Pancake Breakfast, please let the office know if you or your business has any donations to auction off. Every year, this event brings back alumni families and is a celebration of PHCS Community over the years!
History Day Presentations
Our 4-6th Graders have been diligently researching a history topic and creating posters, websites, and a variety of displays showcasing their efforts for the Annual History Day Projects. You are cordially invited to come and tour the presentations on Thursday, January 30th at 1:30pm. Students will be constructively critiqued by a few select adults so their projects can be even more refined by the time the County History Day competition rolls around. Come see "academic excellence" in action as students proudly display their work! 4-6th graders who know how to cite their sources along with presentation skills are being prepared for the rigors of junior high and beyond! Go PUMAs!
After School Piano Lessons with Miss Joy Byars has started Monday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30. Please call the office to get more information.
