SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
My friend Cena goes to Israel several times a year and bring the Sheitel’s we collect to the Chasdei Chana - Tzfat Gemach. I have been helping her since around 2010.

There are so many women in Tzefat that simply can’t afford to change their sheitels when they become worn or torn.

If you can imagine there is actually a WAITING list that Batsheva (our partner in Tzefat) maintains for when my friend Cena brings sheitels.

Maybe you can participate in some way in this Mitzvah. Even if it’s simply to spread the word and ask women what they are doing with their old sheitels!

Maybe you can post this message and share with your various WhatsApp groups.

Whatever you can do would be so helpful and appreciated. I am happy to arrange to have the sheitels picked up.
My friend Cena is leaving on February 17th. If you have any questions please contact me!!
Best Regards,
Bonnie

KASHRUT ALERTS AND NEWS!
Information on Dried Nuts and Fruit
From the Hakhel organization:
Among the items that Rabbi Belsky writes require a reliable Hechsher are dried apples, dried pineapples and other dried tropical fruits, banana chips and of course, any nuts roasted in oil. One should certainly consult with his Rav before Tu B’Shvat on the items he intends to purchase, as well as any necessary Bedikas Tolaim that must be done on these items or fruits of the Shivas Minim. We additionally note that supermarkets and fruit/nut/candy stores without a hashgacha may themselves re-package these items and claim that they come from a larger container with a reliable hashgacha. Let the buyer beware! (January 16, 2019)

Bimbo Bakeries USA Drops Certification on Many Bread Products - UPDATED
BIMBO BAKERIES, owner of many brands of bread and buns, including ARNOLD, BEEFSTEAK, BIMBO, BROWNBERRY, FREIHOFER’S, OROWEAT, SARA LEE, STROEHMANN and others, plus many regional supermarket / private label brands, has made a decision to remove Kosher certification from many of its products, in order to have the flexibility to produce them on non-certified factory lines. Therefore, many products that in the past bore the OU or Kof-K symbol no longer do, or will stop certification at some point in the future. Every package should be carefully checked for the symbol on every purchase. Consumers can voice their concerns to Bimbo at 800-984-0989.
No changes are planned at this time for Thomas and Entenmann’s products, or for Arnold Rye Bread and Levy’s Rye Bread. They continue to be certified as in the past, when bearing the OU symbol. (December 31, 2018)
