You Don’t Pet Popeyes’ Emotional Support Chickens, You Eat ’Em

Popeyes Emotional Support Chicken Takeout Box

If you weren’t in the U.S., emotional support animals are a thing when flying. Also known as ESA, emotional support animal is a companion animal (read: pet) that supposedly provides the person it accompany some kind of benefit. It is not new, but flying with it is. Needless to say, this flying with ESA has been abused and caused quite a bit of stir last year.

Anyways, late last year, fast food fried chicken chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen took a gleeful stab at the trending (and abused) ‘thing’ with “emotional support chickens” to “help travelers deal with the ‘hardships’ of holiday travel.” But in Popeyes’ instance, the emotional support chickens’ way of providing ‘emotional support’ is by getting into your stomach.

So, yeah, this emotional support animal is very dead and if we may add, likely very delicious. Not only do you need not to pet it, you will be eating it. Now, how’s that for comfort food? Popeyes’ poke at the abused emotional support animal is made gleeful with Emotional Support Chicken Takeout Box that is a shape of a chicken (well, a boxed chicken, maybe?), complete with a message on the “comforting” effect of Popeyes fried chickens.

Clearly, this is a tongue-in-cheek campaign that puts a smile on most people’s faces. But not everyone is amused, including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) who lashes out at Popeyes’ Emotional Support Chicken Takeout Box. But it’s PETA and so, we shall leave it there. We shall say no more. Anyways, moving on…

We are not sure if this “emotional support chickens” with the fun chicken shape disposable tote is still available, but back in December 2018, it was only available at Philadelphia International Airport exclusively with the purchase of a 3-piece chicken tender combo meal.

Oh Look, There’s A New Power Rangers Fighting Gaming Your Way

By Mike chua on Jan 18, 2019 04:32 pm
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Video Game

Power Rangers fans, get your Arcade Stick ready because, a new Power Rangers fighting game is coming your way. Coming from developer nWay is a new brand new Power Rangers fighting game called Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Described as a modern take on the 25-year-old franchise, the game promised “stunning graphics with vivid details,” with gameplay that pits current and classic Rangers and villains in team battles. The video game supports cross-platform play, allowing gamers from different platforms to challenge each other and best of all, the “mission progress” is accessible across platforms too.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Video Game

As far as the gameplay, little is known at this point except for it is a Street Fighter-style game and that it is easy to pickup but hard to master game. nWay adds that there will be no overly complicated command inputs or long patterns (thank goodness for that!), but instead “the depth is knowing when to strike, not how.” So, I take it is saying: this isn’t a buttons-smashing game. Also, the engagement here is clearly online gameplay, as with most of today’s video games, and so, not surprisingly, there will be online tournaments and missions through out the year.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Video Game

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will be available in April for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, with the PC version coming later in 2019, priced at $19.99 a copy of a standard digital download. There is also a digital collector’s addition for pre-order going at $39.99, which includes a digital copy of the game, a Season One Pass, and exclusive Lord Drakkon Evo II and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pink Ranger character skins. Pre-order will also come with an exclusive Green Ranger V2 character skin, plus a digital art book. Skip ahead for the video game’s trailer.

Louis Vuitton Horizon True Wireless Earbuds Gets Official Words

Louis Vuitton Horizon Earphones Official

If you haven’t heard, Louis Vuitton will be releasing its first true wireless earbuds in collaboration with New York-based audiophile company, Master & Dynamic. Previously noted in a FCC filing, the Louis Vuitton Horizon Earphones gets its official statement via Master & Dynamic’s blog posted on January 17, but the truth be told, the official words are mostly design/marketing talks. Then again, those are as much as you need to know because, after all, Louis Vuitton Horizon Earphones is essentially a rebranded Master & Dynamic MW07 earbuds.

Having said that, it means you will be getting custom 10 mm high-performance Beryllium drivers housed in PVD-coated stainless steel acoustic enclosures, as well as 3.5 hours of run time per charge from its built-in battery. It is really just a rebrand. There’s no effort in even trying to change the shape of the earbud enclosure. Each pair comes with a sapphire glass-equipped charging case unique to this LV iteration, with the charging case cable of providing a total of 10 hours battery life. This being 2019, this pair of high fashion earbuds is, of course, voice-assistant capable.

Beyond that, the real differentiating aspect is the cosmetic which is presented in four different colorways: black, white and red monogram, and a version in yellow and blue Louis Vuitton stripes. Oh, wait. There’s actually another major differentiating aspect with the MW07 and that is the price. Instead of 300 bucks you’d pay for the original Master & Dynamic, you will need to cough up $995 for the LV version. No. You can’t be serious, Louis Vuitton.
