"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;" Philippians 3:20

JANUARY 2019

Dear <<First Name>>,

We packed all our belongings into storage and left what we have known as home for almost 4 years. As we gazed at the empty rooms, memories began to flood our hearts of laughter, tears, blessings and trials that occurred within the rooms of what we once called home.  Leaving a rented home is not easy, but we were reminded of the last message that the Lord sovereignly led me to preach at our church in Geneva titled, “We are not home yet” (Phil. 3:20). We continually remind our children and ourselves that home is where our family is together, but our ultimate home is in heaven with Jesus.
Moving day with the help of our dear brothers and sisters in Christ from the EEIG.
Even more challenging than leaving our home is leaving the few faithful believers here in order to go to the States for a period of time before we return to Europe. What some may refer to as furlough is better known in modern missions as “home field ministry.” A missionary’s job does not stop or pause when we are in the States. It is not a time of rest, but a time of serving, speaking, traveling, praying, counseling, and ministering wherever we go. Sometimes a large family of 5 such as ours can encounter as many challenges traveling in the States as on the field where a more stable home base exists. Please continue to pray for us and our children as we serve in the U.S. before going back to the mission field.

As I read the apostle Paul’s inspired letters to the churches in the New Testament, I see his heart poured out in words of longing to be with the believers in different churches around the world during his travels. Our hearts desire is to be with all of you in the States and at the same time we will dearly miss those whom we served here in France and Switzerland during our time away. We would love to see each of you who are praying and supporting us. We will be on the West coast (California) from March to July with some time in Arizona in April. We plan to visit the Midwest and East coast from August and throughout the fall. If you or your church is interested in seeing us, please let us know and we will do our best to schedule in a visit during that time.

Saying goodbye to our teammates John and Meg Glass, and several members of the EEIG before our flights.
Thank you for being a major part of this ministry through prayer and support. Please continue to pray for the church in Geneva to grow into a healthy church. We thank God for our faithful colleagues John and Meg Glass who continue to press on in the ministry of the EEIG.

Love in Christ,
James, Julia, Elijah, William & Wesley
