The Brainerd Public Library was established in 1899 and was a founding member of the Kitchigami Regional Library system in 1969. The Library's mission is to bring people, information, and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.

AARP Tax-Aide Services Appointments

We are now taking reservations for AARP Tax-Aide Services appointments February 6-April 15, 2019, in the library's large meeting room. This is a free service provided by volunteers to taxpayers with low and middle income in Crow Wing County. Call the library to make an appointment.

Join the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library for a talk with author Wendy Webb about her new book Daughters of the Lake. No registration necessary, just bring a sack lunch or enjoy the light refreshments provided.  

Have you thought about independently publishing your writing? Do you have a great idea but are bogged down in questions about self-publishing your book? The sites you should use to publish? Or where to even get started? The Brainerd Public Library is hosting a series of six workshops* led by local indie author Carissa Andrews to help you out. These free classes are for teens and adults at all stages of writing their novel or creative nonfiction work. Writers may attend one or all sessions. Growing a Minnesota Cutting Garden**

The purpose of a cutting garden is to produce a bounty of flowers all season long for you to harvest and use in floral arrangements.
