Update & Events

Only 46 days until spring!

Time to get the 2019 riding season on the books.  Please join us for our annual TCD business and planning meeting on Sunday, February 10th at 10:00am in Royal Oak.  Same location as the past couple years.  (The Leo Mahany / Harold Meininger Senior Community Center located at 3500 Marais Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073)

We are particularly interested in some more local / regional road riding events. Please bring your ideas, or post them on the TCD forum for us to discuss.

For those that are interested, after the planning meeting we will gather at Griffin Claw Brewing Company (575 S Eton St, Birmingham, MI 48009) at 12:30 p.m..  You are also welcome to join us there even if you didn't go to the meeting.

TCD Nites The second Tuesday of the month, we meet at 6:30 p.m. at various locations to break some bread and plot our coming activities. We had a great turn-out at the Wurst Bar last month.  For February we will meet at the Ascension Brewing Company (42000 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375).  See you there on February 12th at 6:30.

Seminars  BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan is continuing their winter seminar series this Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00.  It will be a track day seminar led by Sportbike Track Time's lead instructor Mike "Kozy" Kozykoski. He will cover what to expect and how to prepare yourself and your motorcycle. Track days are by no means a race, and many are open to most types of motorcycles.  It's a fantastic environment to refine your skills with everybody going in the same direction, with no distracted drivers texting on their cell phones and no mini-vans or semi trucks cutting you off to worry about. You will be in a safe and controlled environment unlike the streets you already ride on. Not only will your street riding immensely improve with the skills you learn and practice at a track day, but you will also have an incredible amount of fun!

February 9th the seminar will be "Navigating Routes and Tracks on your GPS" with Mike Eckstein, and February 16th is "Motorcycle Packing for Long and Short Adventures" presented by Don and Jan Pennington

T-Shirt Checks
Many of you who mailed checks for our 50th anniversary shirts may have noticed that we have not cashed them. We apologize for the oversight, but we will be depositing them next week.  If there are any issues, please let us know!
