Join Us For a Tour of the New North Thompson Emergency Water Intake
You’re invited to join City of Kamloops staff on Thursday, February 7, at 9:00 am, for a tour of the new North Thompson Emergency Water Intake (NTEWI) at 720 Yates Road.
During the tour, you’ll learn how the system works and what circumstances would trigger the operation of this system.
The NTEWI was constructed to provide the city with a secondary water source in the event of a major contamination of the primary water supply from the South Thompson River. This project leverages Kamloops’ unique benefit of having two separate water sources available within city limits.
