Perfect Attendance Incentives

HHS South students whose entire class was present from December 3rd through December 14th enjoyed a pizza party before leaving for the Christmas holiday break. The pizza parties were offered as incentives and served as daily reminders about the importance of attending school every day. Many students also received semester exam exemptions which are based on high attendance rates and grades. Students with perfect attendance will also be eligible to win great prizes, including a 2019 Chevy Sonic, through HCISD's Drive for Perfect Attendance Awards program at the conclusion of the school year. South Robotics Team Helps Create Robot for Automated Farming

The HCISD Robotics Community Service Team, comprised of students from the district’s three high-school engineering clubs, has installed Farmbot, an agricultural robot, at STEM2 Preparatory Academy that will help students understand how they can use technology to meet the challenges of food production. As with any engineering project, it took a lot of trial and error to get all the components working correctly.

“There were many challenges we encountered while working on this project,” said Cara Ingram, junior at HHSS. “It was a difficult piece, and it was good preparation for an even more difficult project. We have had to deal with a lot of technical difficulties, especially with the programming. It taught us a lot about teamwork and how to be efficient.”  Read More here: https://bit.ly/2S1OZCg
