GGD Newsletter For February 1, 2019

Wow, January 2019 is already behind us, time just keeps on rolling! Hopefully, you've been living life to its fullest while also taking the time to secure your financial future through saving, investing, and paying off debt. If not, don't you think it's time to get started?

But I digress. January was a great month! We were selected as one of 128 blogs to compete in the Rockstar Rumble competition. This a bracket-style competition where personal finance blogs go head to head against each other. So far, we were able to win our round 1 matchup (thanks to Pancakes Cost More Than You Think) and have moved on to round 2. I'll be sending out an update when it's time to vote again, so be ready to spread the word!

We also posted a new article this month describing an innovative approach to set up your budget. Many people have found this budgeting approach to be a great way to get their finances permanently in order. It might be just what you've been looking for.

Monthly Financial Update (Full Breakdown):
We reached a huge milestone this month! We have officially saved beyond the halfway point of our retirement number! Our portfolio has hovered just below that mark for quite some time, but now we've finally surpassed it. Hopefully, the upward momentum will continue. This month our net worth grew by a whopping 9.85%. We have now saved 50.2% of what we need to be financially independent.
