Sabre Sailing Assoc of Victoria regretfully advises that Peter succumbed to bowel cancer on 1 Feb 2019 after fighting this dreadful disease for the past few years.
Peter sailed Sabres at Black Rock YC for over 30 years, owning a number of boats during that time and was a regular competitor at national and state championships. In the 1990’s he frequently travelled to the Australian titles with fellow Sabre sailor and Mordialloc SC member, John Seeber who unfortunately also died from cancer in 2000.
Peter’s sister, Marg Neeson sailed a Sabre at BRYC until a few years ago when she decided to ‘downgrade’ to a keelboat at Royal Brighton YC. Sincere condolences to Marg and family from the Vic Sabre community.
Peter’s funeral is at St Anthony’s in Alphington on Wed 6 Feb at 11:00 am.
