Well, what lovely weather we are having at the moment! With the country grinding to a halt at the first sign of a snowflake we thought it prudent to remind you of our contact procedure if we do have to close. Please don't ring into the switchboard. As you will understand, 180 families calling in means that we cannot use the phone system. We will inform the Local Authority of an intended closure. The web page that lists closed schools is linked HERE. You can sign up for an email to be sent to you if our school is put on the list. We will also try hard to post on Class Dojo and Twitter. Often the issue with opening school safely is the number of staff that can get into school. Almost all of our teachers travel in from the Ilfracombe or Barnstaple areas so we are at the mercy of the roads. We will keep you as informed as possible and ask for your understanding if we do have to close.

We have had a great week of learning and I have been very impressed with the children's ability to come into school in the morning and settle into their learning. We have had a few children since Christmas who have found settling back into school a little challenging. Please make sure you keep in touch with the class teacher if there are any changes which may affect learning. It does help the teachers to have a little extra information.

Parent consultations are scheduled for the 11-15th February. Please see the sign up sheets from your Class Teacher. If your child is on the SEND register then we may ask for a longer appointment to go through their 'My Plan'. If you need additional time to speak to the teacher this can be done by booking an appointment with the Teacher.

Thank you to the Year 3 and 5 parents who came to the Pinkery meeting. If you couldn't come the information is on the Website - under the Residential page. Also, our Bristol trip information is going out tonight. Please make sure you have the appropriate forms in to the office as soon as you can.

Can I also draw your attention to our Non-Pupil day on the 25th February. School will be closed and the teachers working at another of our MAT schools for the day. We open after the half term on the 26th February. All dates are below.

Have a fantastic weekend and hopefully we will get to play in the snow on Saturday!

We as a school have the responsibility to regularly monitor the attendance of its pupils and report back you.  It is the law that it is the parents responsibility to ensure that their child attends school regularly.  Many cases of absence are for genuine reasons and we understand that each individual situation is unique.  However, we must make every effort to get your children into school to increase their chances of having a successful education.
Letters will be received by some of you for children who has dropped below the national average.  If you have any queries about your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to come and see me.
