Middle Level Open House - Rescheduled to February 7th
Winter Open House has been rescheduled to take place on February 7th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. for incoming 6th grade families or families selecting a middle school for the 2019-20 school year. Families will have the opportunity learn about our South Learning Community and all we have to offer focused on curriculum, programming, technology, and extracurricular activities and more.
South WEB students will greet all guests at Door 1 or Door 7, provide an explanation of the night, and hand out building maps and session details. Please see the detailed handout below:

Community Conversation Rescheduled to February 7th, 5:30-6:30pm
Across our secondary schools, we are seeking input from our communities on what’s going well and ways we can partner to improve. At South, we will host our community conversation on February 7th from 5:30-6:30 in the east gym. During this time, you will have the opportunity to share your perspective, meet other families, and help us serve our students even better. This will also serve as our monthly parent meeting. I value your input and hope to see you then.
Winter Walk Day is February 6th!
The annual Winter Walk Day is coming up on Wednesday, February 6th! Winter Walk to School Day is a one-day event celebrated throughout North America, which aims to encourage kids to be active, walk to school, and have fun!
South’s Winter Walk Day event will take place in the morning of February 6th and we encourage all students getting dropped off at school to meet at the sidewalk on the south side of the track on 15th Ave. We will all then walk to the building together in conjunction with the national event!
Encourage your child to walk to school with a friend on February, 6th or participate in walking together from the track. This will be another fun, community building event.

Homework Club After School
The homework club will be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:25-4:30. Students should be in room 177 by 3:25pm and need to have a ride
coordinated to pick them up at door #7. There will be 2 tutors in the room to help students each day.
The Homework club offers a place for students to complete assignments or study in a supportive environment after school.
Requirements: Students must have homework and be referred to the club by a Teacher or Staff.
Students must follow program expectations concerning fostering a quiet environment.
Location: room 177 (on the south side of the building, near door 4)
Time: 3:20-4:25 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Transportation is not provided for this program. Students will need to get picked up by 4:30 or walk home after homework club. Students need to exit the building at doors 4,5 or 7. Parents need to pick up their students outside door 7.
