(December - March)

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” Ephesians 5: 15-17

“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed...” For the past month, this phrase keeps on popping up in my head. Ever since I came back to Colombia I keep on thinking that my faith has grown smaller. I am constantly asking God: “Show me how to increase my faith.” However, it is funny when I remember every single thing that I had going through since I came because I find myself often in those positions where only faith can help. Somehow the Lord keeps on reminding me that faith is not a matter of size, you have it or not.

About three years ago my pastor in NJ said in a sermon: “When you step out, God steps in”, and my spiritual mother always says: “When you say yes, the Lord honors your obedience.” Those are the two phrases that I think the most when making a decision and to find courage when I am afraid to walk in faith. Let me walk you through some of the major highlights of the past months and share with you a new adventure that is about to put into work that small, tiny mustard seed of mine called faith. Join me in this adventure of knowing God and make him known.
Light of the World La Guajira Mission Trip.
In December, last year, I had the opportunity to be part of a team of seven people who traveled to the northern part of Colombia where native indigenous people lives. During 10 days we supported a medical brigade, shared with churches and worked with children from these communities. The best part of this trip was to meet a young woman who understood God as Lord of our lives and she longs to bring the Kingdom of God into their communities to restore their beliefs and honor God with them.
February: A host for the nations. This month was crazy exciting, I had the blessing to make new friends from Korea and Chile. In the time we spent together we were able to learn from each other and encourage our walk with Christ. Two of these new friends were YWAMers and one was an outstanding and unusual Christian with a heart and passion for the Bible. Personally, it was a time of refreshment where I felt the love and words of affirmation of God through them. Their stories were not only a blessing for me but also for one of my disciples who spent time with them.
Good-bye University.
Just a couple of weeks ago I finished all my credits at university. Yes! I cannot express how thankful I feel, if I am going to talk about faith then I would talk about the university. The past almost-two-years have been just a miracle. I had health, finances, and emotional challenges and yet, the Lord guided through until this very moment. Now all I have left is to submit my thesis proposal and thereafter my thesis. I am expecting to receive my B.A in Linguistics and Literature in December 2019.
What's next?
Bless Mongolia 2019
Recently, Mongolia is undergoing turbulent times with the crisis of democracy and corruption. This year, an international call has been made. Teams from all over the world will travel this summer (from June to September) to Mongolia. This as part of the YWAM Bible Engagement and Eradicating Bible Poverty vision for 2019.

A couple of weeks ago my mentors extended the invitation to be part of a team that will be going to Korea and Mongolia in June this year. I was very hesitated to make my decision, especially for that of my “little faith.” However, here I am once again letting that mustard seed produce its fruit. Our team is an international one. We have campus students from Chile, Colombia (me), and other locations. We all going to fly from our home countries to meet in Seoul for orientation. Thereafter we will travel to Mongolia for 30 days. We will be going to rural Mongolia to engage with Bible distribution and other different activities that are yet to be specified. After our time there we will fly back to Korea to engage in various activities depending on the disponibility of time of the members of the team.

As for me, I am in need of raising $3,000 USD in order to join the team. This includes around $1,800 USD for flight tickets (Round trip Colombia — South Korea — Mongolia), $900 USD for room & board and local transportation, the $300 USD left are a special offering that I felt in my heart to raise, as part of this trip, to buy more bibles. I have already started the process to obtain a pre-arranged visa for Mongolia. My goal is to raise the first $1,800 USD during the month of April to buy the flight tickets and from there, raise the $1,200 left before the beginning of June.

PRAY

Each one of your prayers is also immense support:

1. Financial provision for me and all the members of the team.
2. Grace and favor from God for the visa process and the time that we will be sharing with people in Korea and Mongolia.
3. Guidance of the Holy Spirit as we prepare physically, spiritually and mentally.
My prayer, for you, it is that your faith can really be like a mustard seed that grows to become a tree that provides shelter and shadow to those in need.
THANKS SO MUCH!
I would love to hear from you!!!
