This Sunday, we hear how Jesus preached in the synagogue in his hometown of Nazareth and the crowd became so incensed at his remarks, they tried to throw him off a cliff! Vestry Reports – this year’s annual Vestry will be held on Sunday February 24th immediately following the 10:30 service. Deadline for submission of Vestry Reports is end of day tomorrow Friday February 1st.
Lent NewsLetter – our Lenten edition of the NewsLetter will be distributed Sunday March 3rd. Deadline for submission of articles is end of day Friday February 15th
Announcements: If you have an announcement you'd like to see printed in the weekly insert or included in the e-news, please send a copy to the church office no later than noon on Wednesdays. If you're adding a poster to the bulletin boards, send the office a digital copy and we'll include it in our distribution. We are happy to circulate flyers/posters for community events.
PAR Increase: Now that we have a better sense of our routine expenses, the leadership of the parish are asking parishioners to prayerfully consider a 5% increase in regular offering. If you're using the PAR system, you can amend your offering amount by sending an email to Marcus in the church office.Click here to contact the office by email.

February 8: The next Groove Room will be Friday February 8th from 7.00 to 8.30 pm. Help support live music in Leaside and have a coffee and dessert with friends. Cost is $5 with all proceeds towards Flemingdon Park Foodbank.
February 9: The Mystery Dinner is back! Tickets on sale beginning January 13. See posters for details.
February 11: Our next Community Lunch will be on Monday February 11th. Plan to attend and share lunch with friends and neighbours. Sign up sheets will be available soon or reserve a spot by calling the office 416-485-2656. Seating is capped at 24 people. This is a good occasion to invite a friend or neighbour to join you at a church event. Lunch is pay-what-you-can with a suggested minimum donation of $5.
February 12: Advisory Board will meet at 7 pm in the Bracken Room.
February 24: Our Annual Vestry meeting following the 10:30am service. Please note there will be one service only at 10:30 on that Sunday.
March 5: Mardi Gras and our annual Pancake Supper.
March 6: Ash Wednesday. Service at 7pm at St Augustine's.
Ash Wednesday Discovery Day at the cathedral -- a program for children grades 1-8. Megan will join children from the parish who are interested in taking part. Details will be shared as they are released from the cathedral.

The banner image at the top of this email is a sneak peek from our new website, due to launch in just a few weeks. Thanks so much to Peter, Lesley, and Tom, for their time and expertise on this project. They have devoted hours to the project management, working with the developer, copy editing of content, functionality reviews, and testing of the website in its many drafts and forms. We are eager to share the new website when it is ready to be launched.
