Highlighting this Month - Naga Children from Myanmar
|
|
[Update from Justin] We are sharing an update on the mission to rescue the Naga children from Myanmar.
10% of all sales will be going towards getting these children a life with a future worth striving for.
|
|
|
|
For these children, life is changing in a way many cannot comprehend. They have left behind their oppressed lives in order to seek sturdy shelter and new family. However, they're also leaving behind all they've ever known.
|
|
|
|
Our goal is to give a place for the children at Spring of Hope, but we need a lot of help! Thankfully, two of the eight children have already been accepted into boarding schools near the orphanage, so we are starting a fundraiser for the last of them.
|
|
|
|
For each of the children, the first month would cost $215, this includes monthly sustenance as well as the full semester's tuition payment, uniforms, and books. Each additional month would be $65. In total this comes to $1,290 for the first month for the 6 remaining children.
|
|
|
Please consider helping us support these children as they depart from their homes in efforts to grow up and make a change in the community they come from.

Hello friends!
On December 21 the sun reached its furthest southern transit. Reaching the Tropic of Capricorn and going through what Enoch describes as the first gate of
|
|
|
|
heaven. The sun reversed its course and began moving northward in relation to the globular model for understanding world, but essentially eastward back towards the equator, when understanding that the earth is a plane and that the North Pole is its center.
|
|
This means that daylight will gradually increase incrementally over time as it moves back towards the equator and northern latitudes. And even though these three months for those in the interior latitudes are the coldest of the year, at least the days are increasing in length and spring is just a few short months away.
It is during these times that we are forced to remain steadfastly indoors. Because of that, many of us find
|
|
|
|
more time to do the kind of work we would not do during the months of spring. When everything is in bloom and it is just gorgeously appealing to be outside, I find that I am during the winter months most productive with regard to working on books and focusing on computer related tasks than I otherwise would be during the coming spring months when life reinvigorated. It is glorious to be outside bathed in the angelic warmth of the sun.

|
I personally do not understand individuals who do not like to be outside. I consider it prayerful to be enveloped in the gentle kindness of a new spring day. Exposed to the elements of creation, gentle zephyrs, radiant sunshine, and witness to the unfolding drama of life perpetuating
|
|
|
itself, earth becoming green. Spring is the preferred time of mating for most creatures everywhere. It seems that the animal kingdoms also cherish the bounty and beauty of life being reinvigorated for new season.
I, during those months, love to read and study God’s word while outside just being in the grips of nature. I guess you can tell that I am so looking forward to the time when the sun reaches the equator again for vernal equinox in the beginning of spring, and the days become longer than the nights.

Know that because of the cold we have not been gathering in the morning for fellowship at my friend pastor Kevin’s outdoor church in Braeselton, Georgia. But will be resuming in the spring such congregation, for those of you that living near our area or wanting to visit us, can make it for such fellowship. Until then we will only be communing for lunch during the monthly gatherings.

Also know that we greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet those of you that can make it in person. We look forward to sharing time and space with you, and coming to know you all better in personal relationship.

Christianity Versus Paganism in Beowulf’s World

Spoiler Alert:
What a stark contrast the early Author of Beowulf makes from Beowulf’s Christianity to Hrothgar’s Councils’ Paganism and idol worship. Beowulf travels southeast from Southwestern Sweden to the aid of Denmark, Hrothgar’s Danish People in the name of the Lord. In that power he slays the mighty cannibal child of the Seed of Serpent--Grendel.

With the knowledge we have today, can we prove that these people had contact with the Christian world earlier, and in so doing prove the age of Beowulf as much older than we had thought? Common thinking is that Beowulf is both a work of fiction and written 800 AD.
|
|
|
The Sutton Hoo Burial site is dated to 521 AD. As we covered in last week’s article, this burial confirms both the ship and the mask and helmets accuracy in the Beowulf tale, as well as the age of the text being much earlier than originally thought.
|
|
|
|
In a recent discovery, archaeologists at Sutton Hoo have found Bitumen. Bitumen is also known as pitch or asphalt. This Bitumen has been tested and it comes from the middle east, specifically Syrian deposits. This shows the contact between the Anglo Saxons and the Middle Eastern world via trade at least as early as early as the 6th century.

Not only does this contact prove an incredible ability to trade with the Middle Eastern world, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt our characters had contact with Christianity much earlier than we might have suspected.
This tales’ overarching theme of Christianity’s superiority to Paganism

can be brought out into the light of truth. It draws an incredible dividing line between the weakness of pagan idol worship and the strength of the Lord.
