CONSULTATION OPENS TODAY ON
STRAND ALDWYCH PROPOSALS

I’m writing to let you know that the council has launched an important consultation today on draft concept designs for the Strand Aldwych area.
Strand Aldwych is home to an extraordinary number of cultural, educational and creative institutions and businesses with established residential neighbourhoods nearby. However, the area also faces significant challenges – poor public realm and safety, traffic congestion, air quality issues and an unsatisfactory overall visitor experience.

As you may be aware, draft design concepts have been developed to address the issues it faces and deliver the vision for a new creative and learning quarter for London for this unique district. We want you to share your thoughts on these ideas so that you can directly influence the next stage of detailed design work. This is just one stage in an ongoing dialogue we want to have with everyone who has an interest in the area, so we can develop the best scheme as we continue to move forward in a spirit of collaboration.

Full details have been published online at
www.strandaldwych.org and can also be found on display at King’s College London (171 Strand). Please see below details on how you can give your feedback and a series of events where you can come and meet our team. The consultation will run for six weeks, offering plenty of opportunities to share your views.

If you have any queries, please email
strandaldwych@westminster.gov.uk  We look forward to hearing your ideas as to how we can improve the Strand Aldwych area.

Yours sincerely
Cllr Richard Beddoe
Cabinet Member for Place Shaping & Planning
Westminster City Council
