Hey Sturgeon Alliance

Wow! It hit me like a ton of bricks this past Sunday. Our youth pastor Josh Ginn was leading us through our “One Serve 2019” He was explaining Jesus parable of the talents from Matthew 25:14-30. He challenged us - Am I burying any talents out of fear?  Is there any time, money or gifts that God has given me that I am not using for him? Whoah! That’s hard hitting! It made me take stock of my life and present it all back to God… “alright God, where do you want me to serve you in 2019? What new areas of service do you have for me?”
Imagine if we all took that posture for the coming year! I’m sure the name of Jesus would be made even more famous in our midst!  Thanks Josh for bring the word of God to us and challenging us with that hard-hitting message.
And as Josh said, that service can start this week as we launch The Family Project!  Man, am I excited for this! Just think of what God can do in our midst as we all come together in this focused time of discipleship!  I know Jesus is going to be made famous as we place him the center of our families and our lives.  I hope you can make it tomorrow night (Wednesday Jan.30th) If you haven’t signed up, there is still time! Register on our website or register when you come tomorrow night. I hope to see you there. It starts 6:30pm sharp! (so come early if you want to do that “talking thing” before)

Next Sermon Series - This Sunday Feb.3
For 6 weeks we are going to address some of those aggressive lies that are coming at us from our culture. You know those things that we need to talk about but don’t really want to talk about? – Sex, Marriage, Gender, Homosexuality, The origin of Life, The sanctity of life, Authority and Entitlement, and the seriousness of sin. Ya…we are going to talk about those things! Hold on as it gets awkward and we address the elephant in the room!  .

One Prayer 2019
We have 207 people who have committed to pray Eph.1:15-23 for each other this year. Awesome! Adra tells me we have only 4 unclaimed cards left.  So, if you placed a card into the mix make sure you stop by this Sunday and select another card that you be your One Prayer person for the year.  And, if you want to be part of this, there is still time! Reach out to Arda DeHaan this week and she will make sure you are part of the project.  dehaan.arda@gmail.com

 One Word 2019
Have you seen our One Word 2019 display in the church foyer? It is so encouraging to see this everyone’s verse/passage of scripture of the year. It will certainly be a constant reminder of God’s eternal word in our lives throughout 2019! If you want to be part of this, there is still time and there are still a few brick tiles left! Drop by the church and fill one out or email your information to Monique in our office and she can create it for you! office@sturgeonalliance.org
