International Genealogy Websites to Love

February already and so it's time for First Friday with Sassy Jane. This issue is devoted to international genealogy websites to love (besides Sassy Jane Genealogy, of course).

But first a note about the vintage valentine at right. The image is courtesy of The Graphics Fairy. You can find this image and other vintage Valentines, all available for download and printing.

Lost Shoebox Genealogy

Think of this interesting website as a buffet of genealogy records and topics. You can find free access to online records for specific parts of Poland; word lists in German and Spanish; a useful DNA centimorgans relationship chart; help with Russian handwriting; and a quick overview of U.S. immigration laws from 1790 to the 1950s with record examples. Check back with this site. The owners are making additions, stating, "While we don’t have the time to keep up with a blog, our focus is more on guides, tutorials and some reviews on products/services that may help others with their research. I guess you can say we are the “visual genealogists.”

This site specializes in Native American History and Genealogy, including available records types, Bureau of Indian Affairs agencies and reservations, census, church, military records, schools, annuity, allotment, treaties, removal records, archives and libraries, cultural groups, and forts.

Family History Daily

Since 2013, Family History Daily has been providing articles, courses, and tools for researchers using U.S. records. Try these links:
