Join a VAF Task Force
Short-Term Commitment

Are you a local resident who wants to help the Village Arts Factory on a short-term basis?  The Tenants Task Forces will find and secure tenants for our 3 buildings.  The Funding Task Force will identify opportunities for the community to be a permanent part of the Village Arts Factory.  To participate, contact Jill Engel by Monday, February 4th.  Task forces will conclude in early March.

We're Grateful!

The Partnership received a $5000 donation from Omaha-based Wounded Warriors Family Support, one of the U.S.' top 5 veterans organizations.  For the 4th time, the Motor Cities National Heritage Area has supported our project; we were recently awarded a $25,000 Motor Cities Challenge Grant that will help rehab the Ford Factory.  The Masco Corporation Foundation generously awarded the VAF a $50,000 grant as well.  Thanks so much for bringing the vision to life!

Here's the 'Before' Picture...

We've spent the past several weeks prepping the interior of the Arts Warehouse (including restroom plumbing, thanks to our MCACA grant).  Now, we're shifting gears as we move outside for exterior shell and roofing work.   We're looking for material donations to finish things up in the next 8 - 9 weeks.  Please contact Jill Engel if you can help.  Follow our progress on our Facebook page.

Bittersweet Memories

Fond Farewell to Courthouse Grille
Earlier this month, the Partnership bid the iconic Courthouse Grille goodbye forever.  We thank our event sponsors, our esteemed guests, and Sam Messina, owner of Courthouse Grille, for their generosity.  Our event raised almost $18,000 for the Village Arts Factory.  We'll forever remember Courthouse Grille with fondness.  Click here for Observer article.
