Project Update

It's been two years since the The Dragon Group was hired as an Aviation Sustainability Consultant at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Planning and Development Department (P+D). Much progress has been made since we first led efforts to develop a Sustainability Program for the ATL Planning and Development department. Here are some of the highlights:

Achieved LEED for Campus Pre-Certification (ATL is the 1st to do so) for 4600 acre campus
40 building/assets tracked via Arc metrics platform for global bench marking
10 registered / LEED certified projects
10 additional future projects to be certified under LEED, Parksmart or Envision
Largest Parksmart Certification in GA - ATL West Parking Garage
Established Sustainability Goals to align with City of Atlanta's Green Building Ordinance
Completed P+D Sustainability Standards reviewed and approved by DOA

Villages of Castleberry Hill- Multi-Family Construction Management

HJ Russell & Associates hired TDG to serve as a Construction Manager and oversee its Pre-Construction and Construction process for renovation(Phase 1) for Villages of Castleberry Hill property located on the historic Westside of Atlanta. TDG is provides project management / construction management expertise for the renovation of 166 units. Duties include leading the oversight of design management, budgeting, scheduling, and permitting to ensure the project is on time, under budget and exceeds quality expectations.

Congrats Corner

Congrats to TDG team member, Giovanni. He passed the LEED AP exam and is now an accredited general associate. With his new credentials he has been promoted from Intern to Project Associate. This a great example of what TDG is all about, serving clients, exposing students and growing TDG all at the same time, project by project.

Day in the Life

Fall was a busy time of year for TDG team members Yvonne and Randall stay current with local and global expertise and share TDG best practices.

Airports Going Green

Yvonne attended Airports Going Green conference in Atlanta and attended workshops on how Sustainability AND Resiliency is implemented at airports in the US and the Caribbean. Sustainability experts from around the world, including United Nations officials from Geneva were in attendance.

Greenbuild

Randall attended the world’s largest sustainability conference, Greenbuild, in Chicago. He attended the conference with TDG clients, ATL Planning and Development- Sustainability Program Team. During the global conference they shared best practices for airport sustainability tracking including LEED for Campus and airport performance scoring via the Arc platform.

Team Corner

Every quarter TDG plans a team outing. This fourth quarter, we enjoyed an afternoon off site for team building at Stone Mountain. Our multi-generational team made the somewhat steep journey together and encouraged each other along the way. The beautiful views were well worth the effort.
