Message from NTCOGSO's President, Tabby Fudge

NT COGSO welcome parents, carers, families, communities, staff and students to an exciting new year in public education across the Northern Territory. We hope that you enjoyed a restful and relaxing holiday period filled with wonderful memories with your loved ones.

Thank you to the dedicated staff who continued to work tirelessly through the holidays to ensure our schools were ready to welcome students on their first day of learning in 2019.

We look forward to an incredible year ahead with families, schools and communities working together to achieve the best possible education outcomes for all students.

Travel from Darwin to the central Australian desert, or remote Arnhem land and everywhere in between to provide training and support to urban, rural and remote school communities.

Do you want to empower families to have a voice in their children’s education?
Do you have excellent communication skills?
Do you have comprehensive knowledge of school governance?
Do you have experienced in delivering training and education programs?

AGM PREPARATION SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE BODIES

NT COGSO is here to support School Representative Body's (Councils and Boards) in preparation for your 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

PLANNING

The Principal will ensure no less than 14 days’ notice is provided
AGM’s must be held on or before 15 March 2019
The Audited Financial Report must be presented for acceptance
AGM’s must be transparent and open to all members of the school community

2019 SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE BODY GOVERNANCE TRAINING

Governance training provides Members with an increased awareness and understanding of the governing role of a School Representative Body.

Governance training is essential to ensure everyone fully comprehends their duties, purpose and legal responsibilities when joining their School Representative Body.

Financial Governance training ensures best practice strategic planning for school improvement and accountability of the school’s financial position.

Industrial Relations Governance training ensure members are aware of their legal responsibilities as the employer of School Representative Body Staff.

All training sessions can be tailored to individual school needs and are supported by quality resources.

SPORTS VOUCHERS

Sports vouchers are no longer being issued through schools and you will need to apply online at the beginning of each semester.

Safer Internet Day (SID) is an annual, worldwide event will be held on Tuesday 5 February 2019 to help encourage a better internet, with this year's theme 'Together for a better internet'.
