Did You Know?
Walking to school benefits students in numerous ways:
- Physically: active commuting is a great way to add exercise into your daily routine
- Socially: provides social time and builds a sense of community
- Academically: students are more focused, ready to learn and earn better grades when physically active

After a successful Walk to School Day in October, Whitaker Elementary (Buena Park School District) kicked off their monthly Walk to School Day events. Every second Wednesday of the month, school staff, parents and students meet at designated locations and walk to school together. These events add to the school's goal to improve family & student wellness. Great job, Padres en Acción parents who support this effort. Go Whitaker Sharks!
