Notices

Grade-specific Assessment Planners for Term 1 have been loaded onto the Engage Parent Portal in the Document Library. These planners contain the formal assessments scheduled for each subject during the course of Term 1. Practical tasks such as PATs and orals are not included on these planners. Any changes to this schedule caused by unforeseen circumstances will be communicated to the learners well in advance of the date.

The Document Library is located on the Home page of the Parent Portal, in the bottom right corner of the screen. If you require any assistance accessing the portal, feel free to drop an email to info@rghs.org.za

Music Update

Music Workshop with Amanda Tiffin

Another successful music workshop was held on Monday, 21 January in the Thomson Hall. The talented vocalist, Amanda Tiffin (Head of Jazz Studies at UCT) was invited to facilitate a jazz workshop on improvisation.  Read more...

Music pupils visit the City Hall


On Thursday 24 January our subject Music pupils went to the City Hall to watch the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra perform works by Jali, Poulenc and Rachmaninov.

Congratulations to the U14 Water Polo Team who placed 2nd at the U14 Water Polo Festival hosted by Wynberg this past weekend.

LO Matters

  • Ms Norval and the Pride Campaign have arranged authors Haji Mohamed Dawjee and Rebecca Davis to speak on 4 February at 1pm in the Thomson Hall. All are welcome. Their books will also be on display and available for sale courtesy of The Book Lounge.

  • Global Education Study Abroad Expo on 11 February:  Please register for free to avoid queues at the door on the following link: Global Education Expo 2019. This expo is free and open to the public and will be held at two separate venues: 

    ·  The Neelsie Student Centre, Stellenbosch University:  10.00am - 1.00pm

    ·  Kelvin Grove Club, Newlands:  3.00pm - 7.00pm

Past Pupil, Leigh Tobin Wright (E2008) from Inscape Design School with Ms Astrid Castle and the Grade 12 Design class. Ms Tobin talked to the design girls about the tertiary courses offered at the Inscape Design school and the young designer competition that they are running. 

125 Book Collection Project


Tanya van der Merwe (assisted by Ms Jordan Tame) is already working enthusiastically at Ms Bleby’s desk compiling a list of past RGHS learners and teachers and their works for the 125th Anniversary exhibition. She is awaiting further donations.
